Meet Our Sponsors & Community Partners: The People Powering Roots & Rivers

At the heart of the Lowcountry, the Roots and Rivers Festival is not just an afternoon of music and marketplace; it is a pivotal movement designed to empower our local economy and celebrate the rich cultural heritage that defines Bluffton, SC. As we prepare to gather at Oyster Factory Park on Saturday, September 12, 2026, we recognize that this groundbreaking event is made possible through the unwavering support of our visionary sponsors and community partners.

Our mission has always been clear: to create an inclusive space where Black entrepreneurs can thrive and families can connect through the universal language of soul, R&B, and Motown. However, moving from vision to reality requires more than just passion; it requires a collective commitment from the businesses and individuals who believe in the future of our community. These partners are the true architects of the festival, providing the resources necessary to offer accessible programming, professional platforms for artisans, and a vibrant atmosphere for all.

Groundbreaking Partnerships: The Foundation of Cultural Stewardship

The concept of "cultural stewardship" is central to everything we do. It is the practice of honoring our past while actively investing in our future growth.

Equally vital is our Platinum Sponsor, Bill Anderson of Daniel Ravenel Sotheby's International Realty. With a generous contribution of $7,500, Bill Anderson has demonstrated a profound commitment to the stability and vibrancy of our local neighborhoods. This level of support is not just a donation; it is a pivotal investment in the visibility of Black-owned businesses and the continued revitalization of the Bluffton historic district.

Driving Local Innovation: How Corporate Support Fuels Small Business Growth

Our sponsors understand that supporting the Roots and Rivers Festival is a strategic move for the entire local economy. Research shows that local independent businesses reinvest about three times more money back into the community than non-local firms. In fact, for every $100 spent at a local independent business, approximately $45 stays right here in the Lowcountry, compared to just $14 at a national chain.

This economic multiplier effect is fueled by our Gold Sponsor, D. Anderson Construction ($2,500), and our dedicated Bronze Sponsors:

  • Christopher Gibbs (Gibbs Law Firm) ($2,000)

  • Palmetto Electric ($1,500)

  • Fifth Third Bank ($1,000)

  • Burr Forman ($1,000)

  • TD Bank ($1,000)

  • Shoreline ($1,000)

By providing the capital necessary to host a professional marketplace, these partners allow us to lower the barriers to entry for local Black artisans. When you walk through the marketplace on September 12, you aren't just seeing vendors; you are seeing the results of corporate networking and community-led innovation. These sponsorships allow us to provide high-quality marketing, professional booth setups, and a massive audience for entrepreneurs who are the backbone of our region.

Inclusive Community Impact: Building a Shared Legacy at Oyster Factory Park

The Roots and Rivers Festival is designed to be a "third place": a sanctuary outside of home and work where community bonds are forged. Our partnership with the Town of Bluffton, made possible through the ATAX grant, ensures that Oyster Factory Park remains an accessible, top-tier venue for this cultural milestone.

This spirit of inclusivity extends to our Community Friends, whose contributions of $500 each play a significant role in the festival's operational success:

  • Pearce Scott Architects

  • Stromer Plumbing

  • Cynthia Martin & Denice Brown

We also owe a debt of gratitude to our Media Partner, IHeart Radio, whose in-kind support ensures our message reaches every corner of the Lowcountry. Their voice amplifies our mission, turning a local gathering into a regional destination. From the high-energy R&B of Stee & The Ear Candy Band to the interactive activities in our Kids Zone, every element of the festival is polished and professional because our partners believe that our community deserves the best.

Join the Movement: Your Participation is the Final Piece

As we look toward September 12, we invite you to become a part of this shared legacy. The Roots and Rivers Festival is not just a date on the calendar; it is a testament to what we can achieve when we align our resources with our values. By purchasing a ticket, you are directly supporting the initiatives that these sponsors have helped build.

We have made it easier than ever to bring the whole family. Early Bird Tickets are just $10 until July 31. After that, General Admission will be $15, but we also offer $50 group packs to ensure our celebration remains affordable and accessible for everyone.

Let’s honor our heritage and build our future together. We will see you at the river!
