Thank You, Lowcountry! Roots & Rivers Festival 2026 Was One for the Books
The dust has settled at Oyster Factory Park, the echo of the bass has faded into the May River, and the vibrant colors of our marketplace have been packed away: but the spirit of the 2026 Roots & Rivers Festival is just beginning to ripple through our community. On Saturday, September 12th, we didn’t just host a festival; we witnessed a pivotal moment of cultural celebration and economic empowerment that will resonate for years to come.
From the first chord struck on the main stage to the final laughter heard in the Kids Zone, the day was a groundbreaking testament to what happens when a community unites with a shared vision. We are overwhelmed with gratitude for the thousands of attendees who chose to spend their Saturday with us, proving once again that Bluffton is the heartbeat of the Lowcountry.
A Symphony of Support: Our Platinum and Gold Partners
Success of this magnitude is never a solo endeavor. It is built on the foundation of visionary leadership and the unwavering support of our partners. We want to extend a profound thank you to our Platinum Sponsor, Bill Anderson with Daniel Ravenel Sotheby's International Realty. His $7,500 contribution was more than a donation; it was a significant investment in the visibility and growth of our local artisans.
We also celebrate our Gold Sponsor, D. Anderson Construction, whose $2,500 commitment helped ensure that our festival grounds were as inclusive and accessible as they were beautiful. These partnerships allow us to keep our mission alive, providing a high-quality platform for Black entrepreneurs while offering a premier experience for every family in the Lowcountry.
Investing in Community Growth: Our Corporate and Bronze Sponsors
The Roots & Rivers Festival is a collective legacy, and that legacy is strengthened by the businesses that recognize the value of community-driven lowcountry events. We are deeply grateful to our Bronze Sponsor, Christopher Gibbs and the Gibbs Law Firm, for their $2,000 contribution. Your support provides the stability needed to dream bigger every year.
Our gratitude also extends to the corporate partners who understand that supporting this festival is not just about marketing, but about fueling the local economy:
Palmetto Electric ($1,500)
Fifth Third Bank ($1,000)
Burr Forman ($1,000)
TD Bank ($1,000)
Shoreline ($1,000)
We also want to thank our Community Friends, whose $500 contributions make a world of difference: Pearce Scott Architects, Stromer Plumbing, and the individual support of Cynthia Martin & Denice Brown. Each of you played a vital role in making this year’s gathering our most successful yet, with a 25% increase in attendance over last year.
The Rhythm of the River: Stee & The Ear Candy Band

What is a celebration without the perfect soundtrack? This year, the atmosphere at Oyster Factory Park Bluffton SC was electrified by the incomparable sounds of Stee & The Ear Candy Band. Their performance wasn’t just a concert; it was a soulful journey through Motown, R&B, and Blues that brought every generation to their feet.
Music has a unique power to act as a bridge between cultures, and Stee’s incredible performance provided the perfect backdrop for a day focused on unity and joy. If you missed the set or want to relive the magic, you can check out our Music Lover’s Guide to Stee to learn more about the band that kept our spirits high all afternoon.

Empowering the Marketplace: Vendors and Entrepreneurs

At its heart, the Roots & Rivers Festival is a platform for economic empowerment. Our Artisan Marketplace featured over 40 local Black-owned businesses, ranging from handcrafted jewelry to bespoke home goods. This wasn’t just a shopping experience; it was a direct investment in the dreams and livelihoods of our neighbors.
We want to thank every marketplace artisan and food truck vendor who brought their talents to the park. The diversity of flavors and crafts showcased the incredible innovation thriving within our community. By choosing to shop local, our attendees helped generate a record-breaking economic impact for our vendors this year. For a deeper look at why these businesses are the backbone of our event, revisit our post on Why Our Artisan Marketplace is the Heart of Bluffton.

A Family Legacy: The Kids Zone and Volunteers

One of our core missions is to create a space that is not just inclusive, but truly family-friendly. Our Kids Zone team worked tirelessly to ensure that our youngest attendees had a day filled with wonder. From face painting to interactive games, the joy on the faces of the children reminds us why we do this: to build a future where every child feels seen and celebrated.
None of this would be possible without our incredible fleet of volunteers. Over 100 individuals gave their time, energy, and smiles to guide parking, manage water stations, and support our vendors. You are the unsung heroes of the Roots & Rivers Festival, and we thank you for your selfless dedication to the Lowcountry. If you're feeling inspired to join us next year, you can always sign up to volunteer here.
Gratitude to the Town of Bluffton and ATAX
We must also extend a special thank you to the Town of Bluffton and the ATAX grant committee. Their support allowed us to enhance our marketing efforts and ensure that Oyster Factory Park remained a safe, beautiful, and accessible venue for all. We also thank our Media Partner, IHeart Radio, for helping us spread the word across the region, ensuring that this message of community reached every corner of the Lowcountry.
The partnership with the Town is a pivotal part of our growth. By working together, we are making bluffton sc events a destination for those seeking authenticity, culture, and high-energy community connection.

Looking Forward: The Journey Continues
As we look back on the success of September 12, 2026, we are already dreaming of 2027. We are honoring our heritage while highlighting the modern innovation that our entrepreneurs bring to the table every day. The Roots & Rivers Festival is more than a date on a calendar; it is a year-round commitment to community growth and cultural pride.
Thank you, Lowcountry, for showing up, for speaking out, and for celebrating with us. We invite you to stay connected, continue supporting the businesses you discovered at the festival, and keep the spirit of unity alive. The river keeps flowing, and our roots only grow deeper.
See you next year!
